The Mx4 complies with all ISA and PCI bus timing standards and contains a large memory space for its programming as well as dual-port ram. Mx4 incorporates a high-speed multi-DSP parallel processing architecture. Its programming support includes an on-board C-like programming language (DSPL) which utilizes the Mx4’s patented parallel DSP processing power, enabling the controller to perform computer, PLC, and motion controller functions useful in general factory automation applications.

This controller’s algorithms are well suited for coordinated applications like machine tools, robotics, packaging, material handling, semiconductor manufacturing, and other automation applications. The Mx4 is also available on VME and multibus platforms. The computer control structure used by Mx4 is state feedback.
